Is Being Natural REALLY That Hard?

Is being natural Really that hard? The one thing I hear all the time is “oh you’re natural? I could never go natural it takes too much time” or “I could never go natural I don’t have good hair like yours”. Which I feel like needs to stop. All hair is good hair and all women and men can go natural. Taking care of your hair doesn’t take a whole day like it does in the natural beauty gurus videos on YouTube. It doesn’t have to, it could and should only take a couple hours. One thing you’d absolutely need is a good conditioner and a good paddle brush. You don’t need all those expensive tools or a denman brush. You don’t even need a wide toothed comb. In my opinion the paddle brush works better because it covers more area and more tangles at different lengths of the hair. Which I think is easier than a comb, takes quicker and is less hassle. Another thing is to find a good sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Sulfate dries out and sucks all moisture and natural oils from your hair, which causes it to break and not grow as fast as you would like it to. A co-wash every other week is also better than shampooing every other week. I like to alternate. Co-wash in two weeks and then shampoo towels after that. Once in a while I’ll use a sulfate shampoo but that’s if and only if I feel as though my hair has a lot of buildup on it. Sulfate is not Terrible but it’s not good for you hair all the time. The last thing you need is good products that feed your hair. I use the LOC method for my hair and it’s thrived. LOC method stands for leave-in, oil and cream. I used all three but not exactly in that order. First I use a leave -in, the cream and then the oil to seal it all in. This method has worked for me for so long so I haven’t changed it in so long. You don’t absolutely need to follow this method but it’s just what I use.
Developing your own routine is quick and easy. It’s not super pricy and when you find what works it’s worth it. There’s no shame in trying.
Stay Beautiful.
